What Is SmartDepo?
SmartDepo provides page/line deposition summaries with 100% accurate citations, reviewed by legal professionals before delivery. In addition, we just launched a brand new deposition analysis platform where those completed summaries come together, so you can question every deposition in a case at once.
What do I get with each summary?
With each summary you get: a Page/Line Summary organized by topic at one-fifth to one-tenth the transcript length, a Key Admissions Analysis, a Deposition Abstract, and a Deposition Memo organized by legal and factual issue. All with hyperlinked citations to the source dialogue.
What transcripts can I submit?
PDF or TXT of any length. Multi-witness depositions, hearings, trials, examinations under oath, arbitrations, and any legal transcript carrying page and line numbers. We handle complex formatting and timestamps and fix parsing problems at no charge.
We cannot currently process condensed transcripts or scanned PDF images. If your file will not upload, that is usually why.
What can I do on the platform?
Ask questions across every summarized transcript in the case, build memos around your case type and issues, surface contradictions between witnesses, and jump straight to the testimony that matters. Every answer carries a page/line citation.
Are SmartDepo summaries accurate?
The citations are guaranteed. Every page/line citation resolves to the exact page and line in the source transcript, on every summary, reviewed by a legal professional.
The analysis is generally accurate and backed by internal quality checks, but testimony can be vague, ambiguous, or poorly phrased, and AI can misread it. Review the work product carefully before relying on it in a filing.
How long does a summary take?
Most come back in under 5 minutes.
Do I need a summary to use the platform?
Yes. The platform reads your completed summaries, so a deposition has to be summarized before you can question it. The more of the case you have summarized, the more the platform can tell you.
How does pricing work?
Two ways to buy. A SmartDepo Platform subscription is $99 per user per month and includes summaries at a flat $25 each, no matter how many you order. Subscribing locks in that rate and adds the platform on top.
Or buy summaries one at a time with no subscription and no monthly fee: $85 each for your first nine, $75 each from 10 to 19, $65 each from 20 to 30, $55 each from 31 to 40, and $50 eacg at 41 and above. Summaries are yours to download and keep either way. The platform requires a subscription.
Is my data secure and confidential?
Yes. Your transcripts and summaries are encrypted in transit and at rest, and are never used to train or fine-tune third-party AI models. We keep them only to give you access to your own files, never for any other purpose.
You control retention. Files stay until you delete them, and when you do, every associated document is removed from our servers within 48 hours.
